There will be a Middle School Cross Country meet tomorrow in Brighton at 10am.  Good luck runners!

Volleyball try-outs for 7th and 8th grade girls will begin next week on Wednesday, October 23rd at 3:30pm in the middle school gym. You MUST have a physical on file in the athletic office before coming to try-outs.

Goodrich Middle School Student Council is sponsoring National Mix It Up at Lunch day on Tuesday, October 22nd. On Tuesday, everyone is encouraged to sit with someone you don’t regularly sit with. Mix it UP! On Tuesday, lunch will be a time to make new friends by sitting at a different lunch table in the cafeteria. Mix It Up is an activity to help us break out of our “comfort zones” and explore new ways of relating to and getting to know the people around us.  The reason many kids get teased, bullied or picked on is because they are somehow seen as different—in the way they look, dress or talk, or even the family they come from. By making a new friend, you may find out some cool things you would never be able to if you always stuck with people who are just like you. You may learn that you have many things in common, too. Including others and making new friends can be scary, but taking that big leap to talk to a new person may help them feel included, accepted, welcome and safe at school. We will also be playing a game at the end of lunch to help us get to know each other even more! Let’s have fun and Mix It UP!

The GMS Scholastic Book Fair begins on Monday!  Make sure to bring money, or have your parents check the email that was sent with instructions on how to create a scholastic fund account for you online.  There are lots of exciting new books and items available at this year’s fair.  The fair will be open Monday – Friday during school hours.

The lost and found table is getting full with lunch boxes, clothing and other important items.  If you are missing anything, please make sure to check the lost and found table.  All items on the lost and found table will be donated if not claimed by October 30th.

Congratulations to this week’s Pride Pass winners!  They are: 6th grader Connor Clark nominated by Mrs. Leadford, 7th grader John Gartrell nominated by Miss Hein, and 8th grader Dylan DeFever nominated by Mrs. Robb.  Please come to the office to collect your prize.

Today’s PRIDE message:  - It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up! Work to win!

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to show your GMS Pride!
